I'm so glad we get tomorrow off!

Work Out Summary:

I knew these work outs were going to get harder but DAMN! Today was rough. We did Pike crunches, jumping lunges, butt kicks, superman pose for 1 full minute, and the worst of it all a 1 min. 6.0mph run on an incline of 12!!

Whitney decided to get Brandice to do day 1 today. She quit after 2.5 circuits. She threw up and informed us that she'd eaten McDonalds that day. (haha I couldn't resist this image) If I were closer to her I would have been more insistant upon her to keep going, but I also got the feeling that her heart wasn't totally into it(not to mention eating McDonalds and a JM work out do NOT go well together). Whitney also told me that she bought 3 lb. weights instead of the 5 lb. weights because she was too intimidated by the 5 lb-ers. That's not the right attitude for the Making the Cut work outs. (btw Lindsey says she has some 8 lb. weights and we decided it would be a good idea to use those for the 1st half of our circuits to build up some more strength and hopefully see quicker results) If Brandice really does want to do this though then we'll have to be a lot tougher on her next time. I didn't really get to see how Whitney took day 9 but I was struggling for sure. Lindsey was awesome though and she kept saying "Almost girl! You got it! Keep going! LAST ONE!" So it was really great motivation and I'm glad we got her into this. She also said (as I was doing the miserable run at a 12 incline dying) "It's going to be so fun to go swim suit shopping this summer) Which reminded me that I'm going to be in a swim suit soon and I pushed myself to finish.

Mom- Are you reading my blogs? You didn't answer any of my questions, and you repeated the info about squats that I posted. Hm. I'm glad to hear you're still working out though. I think it's great that dad is still being positive and helpful with your goals and it's good for him too. (He can be a good example for Brian haha) I'm pretty sure I'll be coming into town on Sunday so we should hit the track and work hard so you can hit you're next goal and I can do my JM workout for the day. You said at the mall that by christmas was when you wanted to have hit final goals...or something like that. So i'll be checking you teardrops around that time :-)

Whitney- How did you and Brandice do after you left? I know yall were having dinner. Hope you did well after such a rough work out. You're going to have to be really strong around Brandice (for her and for yourself). The way that the 'fat girls' were sitting around the gym and you said it made you mad cause you wanted to join them...well don't let less motivated friends make you feel like you can skip out on a work out or cheat on meals (I only say this because I know that my friends are the ONLY thing that has kept me from a flawless dedication to the plan)
We have tomorrow off so go push Brandice to work her little butt and tell her that 1 circuit isn't an option. She'll thank you later!(but not if she has McD's again haha) I'm still going to do some cardio tomorrow night for about 30 min. if you feel like going to the Rec let me know. If not I'll see you wednesday for day 11! (and Lindsey has that day off but she said to call her if we want her to help out cause she'd like to do the cardio still even though it'll be one of her days off) Thanks again for sticking to this with me! I know we can finish the whole 30 days and feel and look AWESOME!
My Accomplishments thus far:
  • I can run for 30 min on the treadmill at a speed of 6.2 mph without stopping (when we started it was more like 30 min off and on at speeds from 4.7 to 5.6)

  • I've lost 10 lbs.

  • I ran a 5k in about 32 min.

  • I can wear shorts without feeling like every step is making my thighs jiggle and my stretchmarks shake (although the stretch marks are still there w/e they've been a part of my life since 7th grade)

  • Whitney and I flexed our arms at the gym and we were both excited to see some actual muscle definition!
  • I feel more inteligent about my body and I feel like I have more strength (body and mind)Goals I still want to achieve:
  • Run the 10k with Whitney and Lindsey

  • Finish all of Jillians work outs from making the cut

  • Be able to run 3 miles at 6.5 without stopping

I'll end as usual with Jillians Tip of the Day:

Get Moving! Do you want to take some preventive measures against colds? Just get off your butt! Studies show that the more active your lifestyle is, the less likely you are to contract the common cold. Moderate to vigorous activity — and this includes your cardio and circuit workouts on my program — will help you build not only a better body but a tougher immune system to boot!

Until Day 11

  1. That picture of the Mickie D kids is really pathetic. They say Knowledge is Power....I think we need to keep educating each other on nutrition and exercise. We need the Power to Succeed.
