A Different Workout

Tonight I worked out from Mom's house, which is where I am now. I jogged around the neighborhood for 35 min. because it was so beautiful I couldn't bring myself to stay in on the treadmill. I changed things up a bit. I would sprint up the street then to side steps down the street. I ran down neighboring streets and looked at all the duplexes that are for rent, just to get an idea of the kinds of neighbors we may expect in the next year or so. It was a leisurely yet challenging run. If only every day were that beautiful. Then I did some abs and total gym. Then I wanted some more cardio, so I jumped on the treadmill and sprinted a half mile. That felt great! Then I did some more abs and total gym. Whew.

Now I'm a little shaky because I'm hungry and Brian is on his way here so we can go out on our date. I feel so great about my workout and calorie intake so far that I refuse to kill it with a bad night out. No alcohol. No cheese. No grease. Wish me luck.

I was watching TV while doing the Total Gym and I keep seeing a commercial for Weight Watchers that says "Hungry" always gets in the way of a good diet. I disagree. I don't think being hungry is what stops people from dieting. I think eating when they're NOT hungry is what makes people fat. When I'm hungry, I eat until I feel not hungry and I feel good after. When I'm not hungry and I eat because things look tasty or its just what everyone else is doing, I feel like crap. I actually look forward to hungry because that's when I can eat without feeling so guilty. We should create a new little monster and call him "Snacky" because snacking is the real enemy. Hungry is not.

How's everyone else doing today?

  1. I agree - it's not hunger that sends me in the kitchen late at night. It's not hunger when I want to eat a plate of Lee's piggies. It's not hunger when I want to finish off a plate of nachos. My demon will be called "indulgence" although "Snacky" is cute.
