50th Post (Whitney)

Couldn't blog yesterday because I was so busy. Too busy to work out, even. I took a day off but not from my diet. I was great. I had some scrambled egg whites and apple slices for breakfast. Then I got super busy during the day and at work last night so I couldn't eat dinner till I left. I knew we were out of food at home so I had to stop for fast food. I was so scared of temptation as I drove up to Wendy's until I saw their salad options. I got a salad with light ranch dressing. I never use much dressing anyway so I'd say I had less than a tablespoon. And I took the breading off the chicken that came on top. All in all, I felt healthy as I went to bed with Tylenol to ease my aching back and leg muscles from hard workouts for the past three days. I slept like a rock.

Then today I had some grapes for breakfast, a 100cal pretzel snack- then Brian came downtown for lunch. We went to PFChangs where we split an order of lettuce wraps and a brocoli and chicken plate. Let me emphasize how great this is. We would normally stay away from any and all veggies, order the greasiest things available - including egg rolls, chocolate sufle for dessert, fried rice, lemon/sweet n' sour chicken. But no, we got broccoli and lettuce with ginger and chicken. And I couldn't believe Brian split a meal- not like him. He usually gets his own appetizer and meal and beer. I could sense the sauce was not very healthy though, so I tried to scrape as much off as I could. Oh, and confession: I did have 1/2 of my fortune cookie which read, "The one who is waiting for you when you get home tonight will be your friend for life." We thought that was hillarious because Brian will be at work when I get home, so Leah, Captain and Paisley are my true loves. Ha! Brian laughed and said, "Should I get my shift covered?"

So, when I come home to my true loves tonight we will have a killer workout. I only did 35 min. on the treadmill Tuesday night so I'll do my full hour again tonight. Maybe I'll try some of Leah's Jillian work outs after that? Get ready!

Progress: I am down to 147, but depending on how I lean the scale says 145 yay! But let's be realistic. I still want to lose 17 more lbs. I can do it! I wore a shirt today that would normally be busting open at the ummm bust, but it isn't. And I am wearing jeans that I used to snuff at and hang back up when I saw them. So again, getting ready in the mornings is no longer dreaded. It is an adventure to see which pieces I'm ready to wear again. Some skirts I'm still longing for. In about 7 lbs, my wardrobe should be exciting for me again.

Progress: I have been told 4 times by different people in the last three days that I'm pretty, beautiful or looking thin. Wow! It feels good. I'm cautious though. I tell myself, "Whitney, you're not done... Keep up the work and you'll be so happy." Maybe one day I'll be able to believe the compliments instead of being shocked and humbled by them.

Mom- Idol is fun this year. There are some GREAT singers. I am skeptical of thier backgrounds but honestly as long as they keep singing beautifully, I'll keep watching. And I like how they added the stylists at the beginning this year. Just exercise during comercials like Leah suggested and you can still watch your shows.

Leah- You are working hard. I think it's cool that you've found time to cook so much, too. It's a lot of work to stay focused and on a goal-path. Once you get on one, the rest of your life tends to become organized, too. You track your meal plan then you'll tend to track your school plan, social plan, etc. It's nice how things will fall into place. Not easy, but nice and rewarding. Oh my Gosh we need to find out Carry Underwood's workout plan. Her legs look incredible in that picture. Here's more about her weight loss: Carrie
- Weighs 110 lbs
- Doesn't keep junk food lying around
- Is a vegetarian
- Uses treadmill, elliptical for cardio <- her favorite workout is cardio
- Uses dumbells for arms and shoulders
- Uses a balance ball for abs

I have got some serious calories to burn tonight. Wish me luck at work- and in the work out. I'll probably just have some salad for dinner at work. But I can't even imagine eating right now because one meal half the size of what I used to eat fills me up so fast. So lunch is still on my mind. My stomach is shrinking. Hopefully the belly fat will follow soon. :)
